Background

The China Europe Health & Sports Council (hereinafter Council) was founded on the initiative of the Chinese and Finnish companies and organizations on 1 February 2018 (Registration Day). The founders include CCPIT (China Chamber of Commerce under the Ministry of Commerce) and Global Green Development Capital (China Development Bank Capital's task force) and ten Finnish companies. The Council for its part intends to contribute to the implementation of the new type of strategic partnership announced by the Presidents of China and Finland.

The background includes on the one hand, China’s need to develop its healthcare sector by e.g. introducing best practice and technologies and, on the other hand, the Winter Olympics in China in 2022, where China is striving to make significant success. With both goals and in particular the latter one, China has decided to invest substantial sums - just hundreds of millions of euros (€) alone in promoting the winter sports in the country: among others a network of sports institutes will be established, hundreds of ice stadiums, rinks, etc. will be built. The Finnish and other European health and sports companies and other organizations active in internationalization promotion have seen a significant business potential in China and have wanted to join forces with Chinese players in the sectors. Substantial funds in China are available to finance the sector companies and also to support import promotion of Finnish and other European know-how and products to China. In short there is a business potential worth several hundreds of million euros for Finnish & other European companies.

The Council may in its name, the China Europe Health & Sports Council, act as a broader introducer and coordinator for European technology to China. This will also bring along commercial benefits for the members by joining forces with other European & Chinese partners to deliver comprehensive solutions both to China and Europe.
The Council encourages and invites hereby European and Chinese companies and organizations to join the Council. Pls contact our executives listed hereunder.
